FREE KINDLEBut You LOOK Just Fine: Unmasking Depression, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, and Seasonal Affective Disorder

Without a doubt, these are challenging times for everyone, but for those facing uncertainties while battling depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, Panic Disorder and Seasonal Affective Disorder…well, it can feel insurmountable and catastrophic.

But You LOOK Just Fine: Unmasking Depression, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, and Seasonal Affective Disorder is a revelatory book that shows through words and photos how people can appear one way on the outside while feeling quite differently on the inside, despite the fact that their inner struggles are not always revealed in their outward appearance.

Like so many of you, I too find myself hunkered down, unable to leave my home for the foreseeable future, and wishing there was something more I could do to help. And then I remembered why I became a writer.

But You LOOK Just Fine was written to offer candid counsel and act as a user-friendly guide of innovative information and compassion to those with mood disorders, and a unique tool for mental healthcare providers. This book also includes creative coping tools, strategies for symptom management, and heartfelt insight from those individuals who know firsthand what it’s like to wake up with these disorders. By making this book and these individual stories available and familiar, there is hope that a greater understanding and awareness of those experiencing chronic and unseen challenges might be realized.

But You LOOK Just Fine is often referred to as “a support group in a book.”

Described as "a remarkable series of personal portraits and telling profiles, sharing the stories and experiences of men and women who each live with various mood disorders and mental health challenges. These poignant examples – once anonymous faces seen in a crowd, or perhaps within one’s own circle of family, friends or coworkers – will serve as a valuable reminder to those facing depression and anxiety disorders that they are not alone."

We are in this madness together ... in time, this too shall pass, but the only way to combat the growing fear and anxiety is through compassion, empathy, and understanding. May this small share be a gentle reminder that you are NOT alone.
